One of the benefits of modern medical imaging is that many of the X-Rays, CT and MRI images obtained today are in a digital format. In many instances, CT and MRI data can be converted into a 3D model while in other cases, it is possible to convert "film" over to a digital format.
However, in many instances, where single images or slices were captured, the use of angiogram, X-ray, CT and MRI images are used as references for the 3D models.
Each 3D Model or animation need not be generic, but can be customized to show the natural/normal state and subsequently, the altered state as is shown in the medical images. The key is to create a fair an accurate representation of the "condition".
Models can be subsequently displayed in court as an animation or as a forensic virtual model and aid the jury in their understanding of your case. expert witness in their testimony.
