CloudCompare training:

CloudCompare is a free, open-source program that is used by many working with 3D data.  There are a host of features that can be used to edit point clouds, combine, filter, transform, register and even animate your 3D data! This course is designed for beginner-intermediate level users who want to learn more about the workflow and capabilities in CloudCompare and it's 100% online with a LIVE instructor.

prerequisites:

You will need a computer with CloudCompare installed and running.  Since the class will be run over Zoom, it may be useful to have a second monitor. Speakers are required to listen to the instructor and a microphone may be useful in case you wish to ask questions. Sample files will be provided shortly before the course for download.

CERTIFICATE:

Students who attend both days and finish all the exercises will be provided a certificate of completion and can get ACTAR credits.

TOPICS:

SOFTWARE USE

Learn step-by-step how to navigate and adjust software settings, as well as import, export, edit and convert files in CloudCompare.

TOOLS

I will show you how to use CloudCompare greatest tools such as subsampling, ambient occlusion, DB Tree, Scalar Fields​, measurements & point picking, segmentation, ELipser App and much more.

SCANS

Learn step-by-step you how to register, merge and delete scans in CloudCompare.

You will be able to animate your 3D model and use it as a main element in your projects.

Eugene Liscio, P.Eng

Eugene Liscio is the founder of ai2-3D and is a graduate of the Aerospace Engineering Program at Ryerson Polytechnic University.  Eugene is a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto, Mississauga where he teaches a 3D Forensic Mapping and Reconstruction course and supports student research projects. He has been using Photogrammetry in his work since 2006 and has taught hundreds of professionals from various backgrounds using his method.
